San Diego Salsa Festival... And Beyond! Part 1

Marques and I went to San Diego recently for the First Annual San Diego Salsa Festival. As a lot of you may already know from Marques’ previous blog entry, he had visited San Diego two years ago with a co-worker, but only for four days. Since he loved San Diego and wanted to go back, this seemed like a perfect fit with his salsa addiction. For me, the timing worked out perfectly. I was excited about attending a salsa “congress”, and excited to be traveling to a place I had never been. We had both been extremely busy and in need of a vacation, so we decided to stay in San Diego for 10 days! More...

New Article From Chimere - Flava Invasion II 2007

I have to say that going to Flava Invasion 2 was the best salsa experience I've ever had. As everyone knows, Marques and I went to Atlanta to attend Flava Invasion 2. The talent and the performances were excellent. Flava Invasion 2 was hosted by Atlanta's best, Gordon Neil. More...

Silly Dancer Tricks are for Kids

As Indy's salsa community grows, so does its dancers. The dancers who have been around for a couple of years are now taking salsa to the next level. While we are still a couple of years behind LA and Chicago, our dancers have shown exceptional talent and dedication. Some have taken a performance route with their growth of salsa. I have seen flips, neck drops and splits being performed in Indianapolis' clubs, shocking and amazing spectators. More >>

Looking For a Few Good Salseros

We all know Indy has conservative values and can be somewhat behind on new trends. As most of us already know, salsa dancing is one of them. Women typically love to dance, whether it be hip-hop, ballroom, jazz, or Latin, while men run scared from the idea of getting on a dance floor for everyone to see... More >>

A Salsa Dancer's Experence in San Diego

I have written an article about my vacation in San Diego. It is a very informative article discussing both salsa and non-salsa activities in San Diego.

Salsa Caliente in Cincinnati

A few salseros and the IndyRueda dance team planned a trip to Cincinnati to dance the night away to the live music of Salsa Caliente.

One Night Stand @ Sangria (Detroit)

After the melee between the Pistons and the Pacers died down I made my way back to my hometown Detroit for Thanksgiving. While I was in town I decided to check out the salsa scene and ended up in my favorite town Royal Ock just 2 miles away from 8 Mile road. On Thanksgiving night I enter thought the doors of Sangria's Sky Club ready to dance!
