SalsaIndy Group Lessons

Hello and thanks for taking the time to explore Latin dance with SalsaIndy. We look forward to sharing with you the joys of Latin dancing here in Indianapolis. Learning to dance is not just about learning dance steps. It is also an excellent outlet to increase your social network and create new friendships.

Our approach to teaching is warm and friendly and we make sure you're prepared for each new skill level. As with any new hobby, be it salsa or bingo, it helps to have a good instructor. Our classes are taught by professional dance instructors (see bio's below). Our classes come in four-week sessions and are arranged according to levels (for example: beginners class has three one month sessions, starting with Levels 1 and continuing to Levels 2 and 3). Our class sessions are affordably priced and the more classes you take, the more you save!

Marques Gunter [ Contact Marques ]
Marques, founder of SalsaIndy, is a young and energetic dancer. Marques discovered Latin dance here in Indianapolis 5 years ago. His love for both the Latin music and dance has fueled his desire teach, perform and compete in the midwest.

Placed third in the 2006 IntoSalsa Dance competition

Marques currently teaches group lessons in downtown Indianapolis (Riolo Dance Studio) and in Broad Ripple (Jazz Kitchen) and performs for large and small audiences.

All levels of salsa, bachata and merengue.

Jennifer Luna [ Contact Luna ]
Has been dancing since the age of 7, and has a diversified background in Dance. She began learning Salsa and other Latin dances about 5 years ago, and fell in love with the music and the movements of all of the dances. She has a degree in Latin American and Caribbean Dance - History and Performance.

Jennifer teaches the group classes at Riolo. She has performed locally for corporate functions (including events by DFAS, Eli Lilly, and more), the State Fair, 2007 & 2009 Columbus Ohio Salsa Festival, 2009 Cincinatti Salsa Festival, and the 2009 & 2010 Chicago Salsa Congress. Jennifer is also the Artistic Director for Damas Inspiradas, Indianapolis' first all ladies dance team! She is available for private lessons, private group classes and performances in Indianapolis and the sourrounding area.

Available to teach and perform: Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, ChaChaCha, Ladies Styling (and much more!)
No partner required for lessons, male or female!

Kyle Culmann [ Contact Kyle ]
Kyle began dancing just after high school and immediately fell in love with Latin rhythms. He started dancing at IndySalsa Dance Studio and after its closure he made his move to SalsaIndy.

Ryan Hutchins [ Contact Ryan ]
You may have seen me on the dance floor before. I have performed with several different performance groups including IntoSalsa, SalsaIndy, and People, Paint, and Percussion. I am available for group lessons and private lessons.(If female then no partner required)

All levels of salsa, bachata, and merengue.

Kaitlyn McDonald [ Contact Kaitlyn ]
Kaitlyn discovered dance at a young age and has studied many forms of dance including jazz, ballet, hip-hop, lyrical, and belly dance. She began to study Latin dance about 4 years ago, and has loved it ever since. Kaitlyn has been an instructor and choreographer for the past 4 years. In addition to teaching, she is a member of Damas Inspiradas, directs her church dance team, and volunteers teaching dance/fitness for the Boys and Girls Club of America.
