Update from our Salsa for a Cause: Haiti Disaster Relief
Remember the Salsa for a Cause party we hosted for the Haiti Disaster Relief? We here at SalsaIndy wanted to share the amount that we donated. Total proceeds from the event and from SalsaIndy.com was around $500. While all the artist (and myself) volenteer our sound guy had a family emergency and had to hire IndyProAudio to do the sound for the event which cost us over $600 I also toss in an extra $100 in the donation bucket totaling it at $600. March Registration now open for Latin Dance Classes
Sign up now for salsa dance classes! SalsaIndy offers dance instruction for both downtown Indianapolis and Broad Ripple. This month will be offering both Salsa and nightclub Bachata classes.

Costs per person per class:
$12 pay as you go
$40 for 1 full session - or 4 consecutive lessons
$65 for 2 full sessions - or 8 consecutive lessons
* You can join on the first or second week of a session.

Haiti Disaster Relief
A massive, 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti near the capital of Port-au-Prince on Tuesday, January 12th. While our hearts goes out to those left homeless and have lost love ones we here at SalsaIndy want to do more. We are collecting donations to help aid in the disaster relief for the people of Haiti. SalsaIndy will match every donation (up to $500). We will also be hosting a Salsa for a Cause to help raised additional money.

Fiesta Latina at the White House (PBS) - Tuesday, Oct 13th
The sixty-minute program, to be taped live on October 13, will celebrate Hispanic musical heritage and airs on the final day of National Hispanic Heritage Month, October 15, 2009 at 8 p.m. ET, on PBS stations nationwide. (Check local listings.) The program, part of the PBS In Performance at the White House series, will include Marc Anthony, Jimmy Smits, Pete Escovedo, Gloria Estefan, José Feliciano, George Lopez, Thalía, Tito El Bambino, the Bachata music group Aventura, and Los Lobos, with Sheila E. leading the house band.
Thanks to everyone who came out to Adobo for our Salsa for a Cause: Defeating ALS. We raised over $600 for the ALS foundation that night!!! Click here to view the pictures.
Job and Amanda Placed 3rd in the Tristate Salsa Open!
Congratulation to Job Sanchez and Amanda Harpenau for placing 3rd in the 2009 Tristate Salsa Open Championship. They competed against 7 other finalists from Illinois, Indiana and Ohio!!!! Amanda and Job were SalsaIndy students and are now performing and teaching with us!

Students Pay No Cover to Adobo Tequila’s Latin Night!
Starting this Saturday, August 8th and from now on all enrolled SalsaIndy Students pay no cover (till 10:45pm) to Adobo Tequila Bar’s Saturday Latin night! You must be activity taking lessons and you will be required to show your SalsaIndy lesson card at the door. This deal is limited to non special events where the door cover is set to $5.
